Vehicle Config

The data fields each newly shared vehicle streams to you.

The Vehicle config page sets the Fleet Telemetry fields each customer vehicle sends you, and how often.

When it applies

Teslemetry applies this config once, to each vehicle at the moment its customer shares it with you. It only adds fields the vehicle does not stream yet, and keeps any it already streams.

Vehicles already shared keep their configuration when you change this page. To change one vehicle's configuration after it is shared, use the streaming API.

The config does not reach a vehicle that cannot stream, for example one whose firmware is too old, but the customer's choice to share it still stands.

Fields

Select Add Field to choose a field. Only fields that the permissions you ask your customers for cover are offered. Each new field starts at its default interval.

Firmware - the vehicle firmware version the field needs.
Minimum Interval Seconds - the shortest time between two updates of the field.
Advanced - adds the Resend Interval Hours and Minimum Change columns.
Remove - removes one field.
Remove All Fields - clears every field.

Changes save automatically. Field limits are validated as you type. The limits and defaults for each field are at api.teslemetry.com/fields.json.

Removing the config

Remove next to Default fields deletes the whole default config. Vehicles shared from then on are not configured to send you data. Vehicles already shared keep their configuration.

Only admins can change the vehicle config.
