API Keys

Creating and revoking the keys your apps use to read your customers' data.

The API keys page lists your business's API keys. Your apps send a key with every API request.

Creating a key

Admins select Create key and give it a name of up to 100 characters, for example the app that uses it.

The full key is shown once, with a Copy button. Store it somewhere safe. Teslemetry keeps only a hash of it, so it cannot show it to you again. If you lose a key, revoke it and create another.

After that, the page shows each key by its name, its last four characters and the date it was created.

A key belongs to your business and can use everything your business can. Treat it like a password: keep it on your servers, and never put it in a web page or mobile app.

Base URL

The page also shows the base URL for your region, such as https://na.teslemetry.pro. See Base URLs.

Revoking a key

Admins select Revoke next to a key and confirm. The key stops working at once, and any app that uses it loses access. You cannot undo this.
